Real Food Purchased Together

THE MISSION
True food. Great prices.

We provide our local community with the freshest, highest-quality bulk food items,
sourced responsibly and at a reduced cost.

THE STORY

Small farmers. Best practices.

Our almonds are grown by a farmer who’s one of just a handful of California organic almond growers, and he’s been doing it for over two decades. When the California Almond Board forced him in the summer of 2010 to pasteurize his nuts, he found a way to do so that allows his almonds to still sprout and grow into trees. Despite this, every customer except our distributor abandoned him for the European unpasteurized almond market.

There are only a few farms in Oregon that grow organic hazelnuts. In hazelnut season, we buy our filberts directly from the second largest farm, which is woman-owned, in its infancy, and produces the best hazelnuts
we’ve ever seen or tasted.

Our brazil nuts aren’t just smooth, creamy, and the best you’ve ever had, they’re somewhat different every month because they are harvested fresh from different locations to both preserve the bio-integrity of where they’re grown and to not overtax any one reserve of nuts.

Our tri-color quinoa comes from the region of Bolivia that innovated this genetically-rich way
to grow this vitally nutritious food.

OCP foods are organic, but that’s just the beginning of the story. When you buy from OCP, you can be assured that you’re getting the best food on the planet. On top of that, it’s organic, it’s fresher than you’ll find anywhere else, and it’s typically cheaper to boot.

THE VISION
Vitality. Synergy. Sustainability. Inclusivity.

Together, we make everything possible.

We aim to create and support a community that is passionate about sustainability and access to the highest-quality food on the planet. We do this through a subscription economic model; a fusion of CSA
(Community Supported Agriculture) and buying club principles.

Launching with raw organic nuts, seeds, grains, and sea vegetables sourced through pre-existing distribution channels, Our Community Pantry (OCP) will provide the most nutritious and responsibly produced goods to our local community. Members play an active role in creating collective purchasing power, allowing us access to not only fresher, higher-quality foods but also more reasonable prices.

OCP intends to expand into direct relationship with small, regional, crop-producing landowners and farmers. Ultimately, these cultivators will provide our families with the most vital nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, and grains on a more natural seasonal basis. We, as a community, will help grow local sustainable agriculture and respectful stewardship of the land while creating greater regional food security.

As we grow, we will aspire to assist small, local producers of life-enhancing foods, such as sauerkraut, probiotic beverages, prepared foods, and other health- and community- nourishing delicacies. Our subscription-based model allows new cottage industries (with member support) to sprout up and supply their product to us without waste and with less startup financial burden. In turn, it affords us the chance to purchase handcrafted edibles at reasonable costs while supporting new local health-based industries.

This model best supports our families, our community, and the environment through sustainable growth
and the purchase and production of the best food imaginable.

Dedicated to supportable practices, we introduce and extend our patronage to those community-focused enterprises (grocery co-ops, CSAs, and community stores) that share our values. As we expand the OCP circle, so too do we magnify our community awareness, patronage, and membership within the organizations that already serve our needs, nurturing a careful eye towards sustainability with regards to the
environment, agriculture, health, and well-being.

With your help, we can make all this a reality.
